APA creates App – Get your wood products references on the iPhone

APA (The Engineered Wood Association) just released an iPhone/iPod Touch app, which gives easy access to its product reports. Another feature is a “click to call” button to reach APA’s tech support. Here’s the official announcement:

The first APA App – featuring APA Products Reports®, is now available for iPhone®, iPad®, and iPod touch® mobile devices and is offered for download from the App Store™. The app provides quick links for building officials and design professionals to the APA documents that describe a product’s conformance with codes and standards. Contact information for the product manufacturer is also provided. Also included is direct access to the APA Product Support Help Desk by phone or e-mail communication.

While this approach is commendable, I’d like to also have full access to their other product information publications (e.g. the Glulam or Plywood/OSB references). These are already available as free PDF downloads on their website. Another desirable feature would be to be able to cache select documents on the phone so that they are also available offline.
